IT’S GUID TAE BE BACK!!!

 

Yup it’s guid tae get back into the swing oa things, what wi’ the September Drop In an the Monday meetings recom  reekom starting up again!! It was good to see everyone back after the summer break and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up, it was doubly nice to see a new face amongst everyone who attended the chaplaincy meeting.

 

It was business as usual with all the blethering going on and teas and coffees courtesy of Gloria. Cheers Gloria. Poor Lesley hadn’t even got her jacket off as members jumped in to get a heed massage they hadnae hud since May!!

 

Well the next Monday meeting is on  och well you'll have tae read the rest oa the newsletter to find that out. Please take note this a double newsletter as am awa’ on ma hols wi’ Hils tae sunny (I hope) Corfu, so wanted to get this oot afore we go. So enjoy yer newsletter an I’ll show ye ma white bits when I return!!

Vehicle tax for disabled people

You may be entitled to a free tax disc if you're a disabled person who gets the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance, War Pensioners Mobility Supplement or you have an invalid carriage. To claim exemption from paying vehicle tax, the vehicle must be registered in your name or registered in the name of someone you nominate to drive for you (a nominee). The vehicle must only be used for your purposes, for example shopping or getting prescriptions. If it is being used by the nominee or someone else for their own personal needs, then the exemption will be lost.  To claim an exemption from vehicle tax you must be receiving at least one of the following: higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance War Pensioners Mobility Supplement The leaflet DLA403 will be included with your Certificate of Entitlement. This will tell you how to get your free vehicle tax disc, if you need a leaflet or more information please contact the office below. If you currently get a free Vehicle Tax Disc using the Certificate DLA404, you should continue to use the certificate DLA404 at the Post Office®, DVLA local office on online to get your free vehicle tax disc. When your Certificate DLA404 is full you should contact the Disability Living Allowance Unit and ask for a Certificate of Entitlement to carry on getting your vehicle tax discs. The address is:

If you are waiting to hear about a decision on your Disability Living Allowance claim, the Disability Living Allowance unit will send you a Certificate of Entitlement to claim a free vehicle tax disc with your decision notice. The Disability Living Allowance Unit will then automatically send you a Certificate of Entitlement every year to get your free vehicle tax disc. The unit will only do this if you continue to be entitled to the higher rate mobility component.

…………...he has been very busy of late and had his latest figures sent to Gary but Gary’s printer wisnae well so I couldnae pass the figures on but Steve will be at the October Monday meeting and will update everybody then….

 

MONDAY MEETING DATES

The October meeting will be held on Monday 25th October 2-4 in the Chaplancy, Steve Richardson will be giving us his update and There will also be the Parky Brain oa ra Borders Quiz!!

 

Novembers meeting will be on Monday 29th November 2-4 in Chaplancy, at this meeting Rita Thomson will be showing a slide show from the World Parkinson’s Conference held in September in Glasgow.

 

So remember those dates I know they seem awfy far away but it saves me rushing to try and get them oot to you all so remember remember  the 25th October and 29th November!!!

THE DROP IN DATES OR DATES FOR THE DROP IN!!!!

Jill has given me dates for our next two drop ins in October and November, firstly October the drop in will be in ward 10 dayroom on Wednesday 20th October 2-4 and there will be a chat from the speech therapy dept.

 

Novemberz drop in will be on Wednesday 10th November  2-4  in Dayroom in ward 10. Speaker  to be announced nearer time.

Next year that’ll be the year two thoosan an eleven!! Jill is planning to book the Chaplancy centre for the drop ins that’s guid news fur oor tired wee legs!! Cheers Jill.
