Aye it’s no long till we hear that pitter patter or thumpity thump on the roof, signalling the arrival oa Santa Claus. This December we will have oor pantomime, oor Christmas Dinner, oor first meeting in Newcastleton.  Yup a busy wee time for Parky’s in the Borders.

At last month’s meeting we saw the ‘Parky Brain oa the Borders Trophy’ being awarded to, or should I say won by the team consisting of Margaret Shiel, John Shiel and Gordon Alan. In the picture of the presentation Margaret looks right happy! With good reason to, it was calculated that husband John has won the trophy 3 times! The rules state that anyone winning the trophy 3 times must keep the trophy, hence the reason Margaret is looking so chuffed. The trophy can stay in the middle of the fireplace forever.

Oor Gary now has the task of constructing a new trophy in time for the next quiz in 6 months time, goodness  kens what he is gonnae come up wi?
